Iran denies Fajr 5 rockets delivered to Palestinians in Gaza

The chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Iranian parliament has denied that Iran has supplied Fajr 5 rockets by Palestinian armed groups in Gaza, reported Saturday the Arabic television channel Al-Alam.

We disclaim delivery Fajr 5 Palestinian resistance. The purpose of these charges is to show that this resistance is small but it is perfectly capable of providing the weapons it needs, said Boroujerdi Allaeddine.

The Islamic Jihad claimed Thursday it had fired a rocket against Fajr 5 Greater Tel Aviv.

The Fajr 5 rockets, Iranian-made, has a range of 75 km, against fifteen kilometers Qassam rockets for Hamas, according to experts.

The rocket weighs 915 kg Fajr 5 (with its load of 90 kg of explosives) and can be derived from a four-tube rocket launcher mounted on a vehicle, according to technical elements provided by the research center of the defense and intelligence IHS Jane.

Lebanese Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said Thursday in a speech that the firing of a rocket Fajr 5 by Palestinian Islamists was a significant development in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Iran, which supports Palestinian Islamist movements, does not recognize Israel and regularly asserts that Israel is doomed to disappear.

The Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, on Friday called on the phone the Islamic Jihad leader Ramadan Abdallah and the exiled leader of Hamas, Khaled Meshaal, to provide support for Iran to Palestinian resistance to aggression of the Zionist regime.

The Iranian minister also expressed ready to go to Gaza and offered to send humanitarian aid to the population of the Palestinian enclave.
