Elbit Awarded $17.5M for Apache Block III AH-64D Mission Processor Redesign and Upgrade

Elbit Systems of America, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Elbit Systems Ltd., has been awarded a $17.5m contract by The Boeing Company ("Boeing"), to redesign and upgrade the Apache Block III AH-64D Mission Processor. Elbit Systems of America, Airborne Solutions has received an order for the technology refresh to be performed over five years.

The Block III Mission Processor, originally designed and developed by Elbit Systems of America in partnership with Elbit Systems Ltd., provides the aircraft with an open-system computing architecture that can easily integrate with current cutting edge and emerging next generation technologies. The new configuration will provide both performance and technology improvements and solutions for component obsolescence.

The new Mission Processor contains 48 processing cores and future growth to 80 cores for general purpose processing, four graphics processors, enhanced video processing and additional encoding/decoding capabilities. The Mission Processor will provide the Apache Block III avionics and mission equipment with the ability to perform sophisticated "networking" and on-board computing tasks and will allow the Apache Block III aircraft to more easily accommodate emerging capabilities. This new mission computer underwrites a set of established technical standards through a "system-of-systems" approach so that new systems, sensors, applications and electronics can be easily integrated.

Colombia Orders Mixed Fleet of Hermes 450 and 900 UAVs

 Israel’s Elbit Systems announced a multimillion-dollar contract to supply its Hermes 450 and 900 unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to a “Latin American customer.” The buyer was identified in press reports as Colombia.
Elbit said the contract includes universal ground control stations and payloads from its Elbit Systems Electro-Optics (Elop) division and communications intelligence (Comint), multimode radar and other sensors from its Elisra division. Deliveries will be made over the next two years.
Elbit describes the Hermes 450 tactical UAS as the “backbone” of the Israel Defense Forces, with additional service in other militaries. The aircraft has an mtow of 1,212 pounds (550 kg), maximum payload of 396 pounds (180 kg), range of 186 miles (300 km) and 17-hour endurance. The larger Hermes 900 has an mtow of 2,204 pounds (1,180 kg), 772-pound (350 kg) payload capacity and 36 hours endurance, the company said.

Elbit Systems to Supply a Latin American Customer with Hermes® 900 and Hermes® 450 UAS for Tens of Millions of Dollars

Elbit Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ and TASE: ESLT ("Elbit Systems"), announced today that it was awarded a contract valued at many tens of millions of dollars, to supply a Latin American customer with a mixed fleet of Hermes® 900 and Hermes® 450 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).

The contract will be performed over the next two years.

The contract includes Universal Ground Control Stations (UGCS) and a variety of payloads and capabilities including: the Electro-Optics Elop Division's advanced payloads systems, the Elisra Division's intelligence COMINT systems, SAR/MPR multi mode radar and additional sensors.
