The DGA delivers first UGVs MINIROGEN
Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) to present the robot Eurosatory land MINIROGEN (Mini robot engineering), for teams of Engineers Army for the opening of routes likely to be trapped.
The first ten robots have just been delivered, a total of thirty copies ordered emergency operations end in December 2011 by the DGA with the French company ACE Robotics.
MINIROGEN aims to secure the operations of the fire in search of possible improvised explosive devices. Remotely piloted, this little robot allows land to protect the operator of the threat during the phases of inspection of suspicious objects or potential caches. Its low mass (about 6 kg) and small size allow MINIROGEN to inspect hard to reach places, such as water discharge nozzles or the underside of a vehicle.
The DGA has invested several years in the field of robotics and accompanying industrial development of appropriate technologies. Today it has around the center DGA technical land, located in Bourges, specialists able to specify and describe this type of equipment.
MINIROGEN the robot is on display at the institutional space Defense, Stand F396 during Eurosatory 2012.

French Army displays MINIROGEN ground robots at Eurosatory 2012
The French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) is displaying its newly acquired ground robot, dubbed mini robot for combat Engineers (MINIROGEN), at Eurosatory 2012 Land and Airland Defence and Security international exhibition, currently underway in Paris.
Developed by the local company ECA Robotics, the robot, also called Cobra Mk2, is specifically designed to support engineer teams responsible for the mine clearance of roads during the search for possible improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Weighing approximately 6kg, the remotely piloted, small ground robot safeguards the operator from attacks during the inspection of suspicious objects or of potential hiding places, and is also capable of inspecting places of difficult approach, such as water buzzards or the bottom of a vehicle.
Featuring a modular architecture, the robot can be easily configured as per the mission requirements ranging from reconnaissance to neutralisation of IEDs, ensuring chemical and radiological analysis on the way.

The French Army is also showcasing several of its new pieces of equipment, including the Caïman Terre tactical transport helicopter, VBCI 8×8 wheeled armoured infantry fighting vehicle, FELIN dismounted soldier system, and the VBHP 4×4 mine-protected vehicle during the exhibition.
The event, which commenced on 11 June 2012, will conclude on 15 June.

The MINIROGEN Mini Robot Engineering
The MINIROGEN is a new robot, projected from June 2012 in Afghanistan. This team detachments road-opening trapped (DoIP) and sections combat engineer. With his mobility and his camera, he can squeeze through very narrow spaces, to provide information on possible improvised explosive devices (IEDs) that are hiding there. It also has a platform remotely activated allowing him to ask loads mine.
"This modern equipment brings new responsibilities to engineering sections, and enhances the safety of firefighters, who no longer need to get themselves on the mined area," said Captain William Dortz, the STAT.
