Boeing has the little brother of P-8A Poseidon project MSA.

Boeing has benefited from this edition of the show to present its new project Maritime Patrol Aircraft Maritime Surveillance Aircraft (MSA) . This program, which began about a year ago, is the integration of the mission system of P-8 on aircraft range case. The sensors of the latter, would be composed of a multi-role radar, an electro-optical assembly, and a collection system electromagnetic. The assembly is connected to three consoles dual-display, almost identical to those of P-8 Poseidon . Unlike the latter, the MSA will not be equipped with means for anti-submarine warfare or weapons. It should be noted a significant change in business strategy Boeing. Indeed, the American company does not offer the platform for this aircraft. The type of future aircraft has not yet been announced, negotiations are still underway with the supplier. However, the first flight should be completed within one year.Boeing, which is funding the project with its own funds, estimates the potential market for this type of aircraft to approximately USD 10 billion. The risk taken by the aerospace giant seems rather low, the company has already received several requests from clients, in addition, the Government of the United States would be a potential prospect. Boeing provides this project with MSA an alternative to the P-8 , but the targeted market segment is highly competitive.

Eurofighter his helmet ready F-35.

Lockheed Martin has signed a contract with BAE Systems to equip the program JSF a helmet visor alternative to F-35 HMDS VSI. Lockheed Martin and seek to minimize the risk of possible failures of the helmet visor of the VSI joint venture between Elbit and Rockwell Collins. Indeed, it is facing several major technical problems, such as the earthquake visualization, integration of night vision and time display DAS (Distributed Aperture System). This is a set of sensors Infrared placed around the F-35 should provide, among other things, a night vision capability.
Lockheed Martin seeks to minimize risk by choosing a solution from available technologies on the shelf. The option proposed by BAE is based on that of the helmet visor of theEurofighter , which has a detection optical position. The functions of the HUD (HUD), are presented to the pilot via a reticle Monocular. Night vision is provided by a pair of conventional glasses intensifier which can be mounted on the helmet. This solution is scalable BAE, because it could be adapted to a binocular display for DAS and / or night vision system if the helmet was chosen by the integrator to equip the aircraft series.
VSI now subject to significant competition has benefited from Farnborough to present his helmet F-35 HMDS operation. The company tries to correct his image and the various development problems of his helmet. Vibrations were corrected by integrating an inertial sensor on a helmet, sensible compensate vibrations of the magnetic sensor mounted on the seat. To improve night vision helmet is also equipped with a digital night vision system (DNV). The next version of the helmet should be equipped with sensor ISIE-11 of Intevac which should meet the quality standards required by Lockheed Martin. Finally latency issues, which are primarily the responsibility of the integrator Lockheed Martin, are due to the large amount of data processed by the aircraft. They should be solved by improving the capacity of the treatment system and changing treatment algorithms. Since the arrival of BAE Systems in the race, VSI seems to be determined to correct the defects of his helmet market estimated by VSI is about 3,600 helmets.

Thrusters for satellites with an effective non-toxic propellant in ECAPS.

After ten years of research and in-orbit validation of an attitude control motor 1 Newton (1N) on board the satellite Prisma , the company ECAPS, SSC Swedish group has demonstrated the viability of using propulsion technology one non-toxic propellant, denser and more than 24% 6% effective as hydrazine used alone.
Its implementation allows a significant reduction of the risks and delays in launch campaigns, making unnecessary the suits and specialized local staff when filling the satellite. Its low toxicity even allowing its transport in the same plane, spreading the risks logistics by land or sea.
Beyond the environmental aspect, this fuel can replace the toxic and unstable hydrazine, to consider either a smaller tank for the same mission or to extend its keeping the circuit propellant of origin, the product being compatible with standard components.
ECAPS exhibited its prototype thrusters providing bursts of 5, 22 and 50 Newton, intended to replace mono-propellant systems traditional adapted to control attitude and trajectory orbit satellites, they are, small, average or large. The model is derived from 1N 5N and successful tests in the firings of test models 22N demonstrating the feasibility of thrust levels higher herald a change in the small space propulsion. ECAPS also considering a project of 220 Newtons, for this time of launcher upper stages.
