The Indian submarine INS Sindhurakshak leave the workshop June 23

After being repaired and upgraded by the Russian shipyard Zvezdochka JSC, the classical Indian submarine INS Sindhurakshak leave the workshop June 23

The contract for the repair and modernization of the submarine had been reached between the Zvezdochka shipyard and the Indian Ministry of Defence on 4 June 2010.

The submarine had been transported to Severodvinsk on board a transport ship and arrived August 12, 2010.

Following this work, the INS will Sindhurakshak equipped with the Club-S missiles and sonar Ushus.Refrigeration systems and ventilation systems will be upgraded. Communications equipment, CCS-MK-II, radar Porpoise and other new hardware is installed.

Next autumn, the INS Sindhurakshak will sail for testing and development testing of missiles. The submarine will be delivered to the customer in the 4th quarter of 2012.
