China denies shooting a radar used to target a Japanese ship

China denied on Friday that one of its warships has recently pointed his radar shooting towards a Japanese building, as well as acknowledge Tokyo.

"Japan's contentions are contrary to the facts," he assured the Chinese Ministry of Defense said in a statement faxed to AFP. 19 and 30 January last, the ship concerned "has not used its fire control radar."

"Japan has unilaterally sent to the media misrepresentation and Japanese government officials have made irresponsible remarks for hairpin climb the so-called China threat + +", the ministry said.

On Tuesday, the Japanese Minister of Defense announced that a Chinese frigate had referred 30 January a boat with a Japanese military radar used to "lock" a target to reach, East China Sea, the scene of a territorial dispute between the two Asian giants.

Itsunori Onodera had added a Japanese military helicopter was "locked" in the same way a few days ago.Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had found "extremely regrettable" according to him the use of such a radar.

Beijing responded Thursday accusing Tokyo of trying to "tarnish the image of China."

The two neighbors compete about sovereignty over a small archipelago of uninhabited islands in the East China Sea.

This argument, by dint of daily statements and friction distance between vessels and patrol aircraft of the two countries escalated since September. These islands are called Diaoyu in China and Senkaku in Japan.
