Nearly 380,000 U.S. soldiers transited through Russia



Russia has seen transiting its territory more than 379,000 soldiers and over 45,000 cargo containers bound for U.S. military in Afghanistan, according to data from the U.S. State Department.

"The United States thanked Russia for its contribution to shaping the future of Afghanistan. Our countries have established a fruitful cooperation and planning to support the efforts of Kabul to restore a peaceful, stable, free of terrorism and drugs. Under the agreements, Russia has seen transiting its territory more than 379,000 soldiers and over 45,000 containers of military cargo and more than 2,200 flights were made, "said a statement from State Department American issued following a meeting of Russian and U.S. presidents Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Los Cabos (Mexico).

The two heads of state include their readiness to support the development of Afghanistan and its fight against terrorism and drug trafficking. "The time has come for the international community to strengthen the country's security and support economic development and its fight against the narco-threat," said MM.Poutine and Obama.
