The Sphinx is Panhard's technical and industrial response to the French
army's EBRC (Recce and combat WAV - wheeled armoured vehicle) program.
It includes Panhard's know-how in the area of light platforms, and Lockheed Martin's know-how for the CTA 40 weapon system.
With 16-tons in combat configuration, it will be possible to airlift the
sphinx in A400Ms, on the basis of a couple of vehicles per aircraft.
This constrained weight also means reduced procurement cost and
operational maintenance costs.
