Four French soldiers killed in Kapisa, five wounded, including three serious

The deaths of four French soldiers this morning (at 6:40, Paris time) in Afghanistan in Kapisa province, was quickly confirmed by the French Presidency of the Republic (Elysée). They died during a control operation that went wrong. Five other soldiers were injured during the incident, including three in serious condition. They were evacuated initially to the military hospital in Kabul. The victims belong to the 40th Artillery Regiment and the 1st SUIPPES Groupement inter armed civilian military actions of Lyon. "An investigation is underway to determine the causes of this tragedy," said the Elysee. The defense minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian will visit the site tomorrow (Sunday, June 10). "Through this drama is all over France that is affected today" said President Francois Hollande. This attack brings to 86 the death toll of French soldiers since the beginning of the operation in 2001. The balance sheet total, built on the site iCasualites, door 3039 is dead, including 2,003 Americans, 417 Britons and 158 Canadians.
