Afghanistan: the refueling station in Kapisa Anjiran

On 17 June 2012, the Afghan security forces (ANSF) have secure supplies of the position advanced combat (combat outpost - COP) Anjiran in southern Kapisa. The Battle Group (BG) French Wild Geese, which arms the arms task force (CATF) in Surobi, supported this operation.

The COP Anjiran is located in southern Tagab Valley. The Kandak (battalion) 36 of the 3rd Brigade is stationed in Afghanistan with his team of French military advisors (OMLT).

On June 17, 2012 morning, the logistics convoy left the forward operating base (FOB) Surobi, and rallied the COP Anjiran under the protection of elements of kandaks 31 and 33 and a detachment of French BG Wild Geese.

Insurgents have tried several taken to task, especially as we approach the COP, with rocket and small arms fire. Since the position Anjiran, Afghan soldiers responded Kandak 36, thereby supporting the progress of the convoy. Support coalition air have located the insurgent groups and guide the responses of kandaks and French elements.

By late morning, the convoy had finished refueling the COP of food, fuel and other freight. He then joined the FOB Surobi, always under the protection of Afghan soldiers and French and without incident.

The COP Anjiran, associated with a dozen other COP and checkpoints, allows Afghan security forces to secure the axis Vermont, the main road of the province of Kapisa.
