Mistral: Russian fuel not suitable for ships

The fuel for helicopter carrier Mistral type is not produced in Russia, Tuesday reporters Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin.

"It may be that our specialists in chemistry develop special devices to circumvent this problem," said Deputy Prime Minister.

He added that on 14 and 15 February, during consultations for the Franco-Russian military-technical cooperation, Russian specialists with their French colleagues evoke some problems, including fuel.

"I would like to emphasize once again that Russia will fulfill all its commitments indisputably under contracts already signed, as our French friends they should not be afraid, at least for vessels under construction at shipyards French" , assured the senior.

Russia and France signed an agreement in June 2011 of 1.2 billion euros for the construction of two Mistral class BPC for the Russian Navy. The first ship, called "Vladivostok", will be delivered to the Russian Navy in 2014 and the second, "Sevastopol" in 2015.
