Russia-India: 3.5 billion dollars of defense contracts in 2012

Russia and India signed arms contracts for $ 3.5 billion in 2012, announced Monday Komardine Victor, head of the delegation of the Russian Agency on Arms Exports (Rosoboronexport) 9th Salon Aerospace Aero India 2013.
 
"Last year, Rosoboronexport has signed contracts with India for more than $ 3.5 billion," said M.Komardine.

Nearly half of the contracts concern the aircraft, the largest contracts for the delivery of a further batch of Mi-17V-5, aircraft engines, equipment on board and a lot of parts Replacement for hunters Sukhoi Su-30MKI .

According to experts, Rosoboronexport could supply arms to India for at least $ 3 billion per year under the current contracts. The military-technical cooperation between Russia and India sales passes the coproduction of military equipment, including third countries. "This allows us ahead of our competitors," said M.Komardine.


The 9th edition of Aero India 2013 will be held from 6 to 10 February in Bangalore.
