MBDA and IBR Sistemi Collaborate on CWSP Simulation System

At EURONAVAL 2012, held 22-26 October 2012 at Paris Le Bourget, MBDA successfully exhibited a new simulation system for the CWSP (Compact Warfare System Package) naval warfare system.

The highly innovative CWSP solution combines MBDA's SIMBAD-RC surface-to-air and Marte MK2/N antiship missile systems within a coordinated package designed to equip fast patrol boats and/or auxiliary and support vessels.

The MBDA Simulation team and IBR Sistemi have worked together to develop a high-end innovative simulator to train teams in complex defence missions in littoral scenarios.

The system configuration exhibited presented the reconstruction of the main deck of an OPV fully furnished with all the consoles in working order to manage the weapon system and to drive the patrol boat.

The realism of the simulation allows trainees and skilled officers to experience missions that would otherwise be difficult to be achieved in reality.

The simulation system can manage a large number of vehicles, sensors and effectors in the same scenario. The physical behaviour of fast and maneuvering boats is perfectly reproduced in any weather and sea condition. 3D reproduction of the landscape and infrastructures is highly accurate.
