Moscow and Astana create a common system of DCA


Russia and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on the establishment of a joint regional air defense, reported Wednesday the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Defense.

"The signing of the agreement is the result of negotiations between the Kazakh Minister of Defense Adilbek Djaksybekov and his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu which is in Kazakhstan for his first official visit," reads a statement issued by the Ministry of Kazakhstan .

Beginning in November 2012, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Russian Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs signed an agreement to create
a common system of air defense (DCA) with Kazakhstan. So far, only Russia and Belarus had such a system.
