A Jamaran 2 destroyer produced by the Iranian navy will soon be
delivered to the Iranian navy in the Caspian Sea, Iranian Defence
Minister Ahmad Vahidi was quoted today by İribnews as saying.
He said the destroyer is equipped with modern technology and is an ambassador of peace and friendship in the Caspian Sea.
The vessel was delivered to the Iranian navy in the Persian Gulf in February 2010. It is designed and manufactured by Iranian specialists.
FARS news agency referred to it as 'the largest defence project'.
Jamaran is able to fight with submarines, aircraft and enemy ships. Moreover, the destroyer has a helipad. It can be used in 'electronic warfare'.
