Russian 5th generation fighter: the first long distance flight

A hunter Russian 5th generation Sukhoi T-50 (PAK FA) performed its first autonomous flight long distance through Russia to the Far East in Zhukovsky (near Moscow), announced Thursday the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin on his Twitter account.

" The fighter T-50 (PAK FA) took off from the Far East and landed in Zhukovsky. This is a major breakthrough! Unit has covered a distance of 7000 kilometers by making two stops in and Chelyabinsk. Congratulations designers and drivers ", wrote the Deputy Prime Minister.

With a single radar active electronically scanning the T-50 has all the performance of a 5th generation aircraft: a low radar signature and thermal supersonic cruising
speed, high integration of control systems, etc.. The aircraft is designed to replace the MiG-29 and Su-27 in service in the Russian army.
