Orbit to Supply Systems to Israeli Ministry of Defense

Tracking and telemetry systems produced by Orbit's US subsidiary will be provided to IMoD

Orbit Technologies, which develops solutions in the field of satellite communications, tracking systems and communication management systems, will provide tracking and telemetry systems to the Israeli Ministry of Defense for test flights, at approximately 3.5 million NIS. The order was received via Israel’s defense assistance delegation in the US and as part of the US assistance funds.

In the framework of the contract, Orbit, through its US subsidiary Orbit Communications Systems Inc., will provide IMoD with portable tracking and telemetry systems equipped with S-band antennas for tracking and telemetry missions against platforms and flying objects. These systems are particularly suitable for fast deployment and can be assembled and operated easily in the field.

The Ministry of Defense will also be provided larger telemetry systems for stationary purposes.

The tracking and telemetry systems will be operated and monitored via Orbit’s control system, which is based on dual-processor computer architecture, allowing for swift real-time response for collecting crucial information. The system is also capable of operating in harsh weather conditions, such as heavy winds and temperatures below 40C.
