Explained that eight F-16 aircraft is currently in the upgrade done at 309th Maintenance Wing at Hill Airforce Base, the state of Utah, United States. Standard electronics armaments and aircraft will be upgraded from the block 25 to be equivalent block 52.
According to the plan of an aircraft engine replacement will be made by Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, Connecticut.
309th Maintenance Wing is depot maintenance for U.S. Air Force fighter aircraft, in this depot maintenance and repair serving the F-22A Raptor, F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt, and C-130 Hercules.
According to article 1 skadron (16 aircraft) F-16 grants will be located in Pekanbaru, while the remaining 8 are placed in Madison along F-16 A / B block 15 which is currently operated by the TNI AU.
Addition of 1 skadron combat in Pekanbaru is in accordance with a strategic plan (Strategic Plan I) period 2005-2014. TNI AU plan to add three more combat aircraft skadron on Strategic Plan II (2015-2024) up to a total of TNI AU will have 11 skadron combat.
South Korea has proclaimed offer to grant a 16 combat aircraft F-5E / F to Indonesia, on the other side of America also offers grants additional 10 F-16 C / D block 25, but so far no news about the applicability of accepted bids planes of the two countries.
