Two Marines of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) are dead and many
more were wounded in an attack on Camp Bastion/ Camp Leatherneck in
southern Afghanistan by the Taliban militants who were dressed in U.S.
Army uniforms. Marines were able to respond quickly and killed around 15
Talibans militants which were armed with rocket propelled grenades and
small arms.
ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) spokesperson James Graybeal has said soldiers died "following an insider attack involving Afghan police."
This attack has resulted in major damage to the aircraft hangar and
atleast six of the eight AV-8B Harrier Harrier Jump Jets at the base
were destroyed. British Prince Harry is stationed at the base with his
Apache AH-64 attack helicopter.

The Taliban militants were able to breach the camp's
outer security perimeter under the cover fire from theautomatic rifles,
rocket-propelled grenade launchers and mortars just after 10 p.m.. They
were able to set on fire six out of eight Harrier jump jets and damaging
the other two. Militants were also able to damage 6 aircraft hangers
and destroyed 6 refueling stations.
