WM-120 273 mm multiple launcher rocket system
The WM-120 273 mm multiple launcher rocket system (MLRS) is mainly used
to suppress and destroy enemy's strong point, long-range artillery,
rocket and missile troops, concentrated groups of tanks and armoured
vehicles; command posts, etc.
The firing range of the MLRS is now extended to 120 km with the new developed 273 mm guided rocket.
The WM-120 MLRS adopts two 4-round rocket launching-transporting containers on each launcher.
After firing the first group of rockets, the launcher can be quickly
reloaded by transferring loaded rocket launching-transporting containers
directly onto the launcher, this significantly improves firepower
intensity and survivability of WM-120 273 mm MLRS.
This weapon system also features lighter weight, higher strategic mobility and more mission flexibility.
The WM-120 multiple launcher rocket system consists of 4 sub-systems:
- Firepower system (rocket launcher, rockets, transloader vehicle)
- Fire command and control system (battalion command vehicle, meteorological radar)
- Reconnaissance system (reconnaissance vehicle, unmanned aerial vehicle)
- Technology service system (mechanical and electronic maintenance vehicle)
