Chinese and Indonesian Special Operation Forces Hold Joint Training

The reporters learned from the Information Office of the Ministry of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China that according to the consensus reached by the two sides, the Chinese and Indonesian special operation forces will hold a joint anti-terrorism training codenamed “Edge 2012” from July 1 to 16, 2012 in Jinan, Shandong province. The special troop detachment with over 70 soldiers from each side will be dispatched to participate in the joint training.

This is the 2nd joint training between the Chinese and Indonesian special operation forces after the “Edge 2011” joint training in 2011. Aiming at consolidating the results of the “Edge 2011” joint training, this joint training will further enhance exchange and cooperation in training field and strengthen mutual understanding and trust, so as to promote the in-depth development of the relations between the two countries and the two militaries.
