After an almost one-month hiatus,
China's aircraft carrier Varyag departed from Dalian Port yesterday to
embark on its 10th sea trial.
The sea voyage will be affected by
Typhoon Bolaven, which is expected to make landfall in northeast China's
Liaoning province on Tuesday.
Liaoning Maritime Safety Administration
has imposed a sea curfew to prevent other vessels from entering the area
where the aircraft carrier will undergo trials.
Varyag, China's first carrier, was
refitted from a former Ukrainian vessel. The Varyag began its first sea
trials on August 10, 2011.
Naval experts predict that the Varyag will come into service later this year.
