Thailand Receives 48 Ukrainian Armored Personnel Carriers

 
Thailand will soon receive another batch of 48 Ukrainian armored personnel carriers BTR-3E1 purchased under contracts 2006-2011. Informs "Interfax" referring to a source in the "Ukroboronprome."
The source said the agency will enter into the party line 27 BTR-3E1 armored car, and 21 special: three commanding armored personnel carriers, two medical, seven repair and recovery, as well as nine mortar. Completion of technical testing and signing the act of acceptance Ukrainian armored vehicles are expected on July 24-25.
By the end of 2012, Thailand will have at least 30 Ukrainian armored personnel carriers. A total of 2006-2011 contracts provide for delivery of the Thai side to the 2015 233 BTR-3E1 estimated cost of about $ 270 million.
In September 2011 Ukraine also agreed to supply Thailand 49 main battle tanks, "Hold", worth about $ 240 million.
BTR-3E1 is an improved version of the BTR-3E. Armored combat unit was "assault-ability" with a 30-mm cannon, machine gun, grenade launcher and anti-"Bars." In addition, the machine is equipped with German Deutz engine and automatic transmission, the American Allison. The most modern armored vehicle in service with Ukraine is currently the BTR-4.
