SBRM service combat reconnaissance vehicle

 SBRM service combat reconnaissance vehicle
NPO Strela - Russia

The international terrorism threat necessitated development of a system meeting the latest requirements for reconnaissance and transmission of data about terrorist locations in order to neutralize the threat.

«NPO Strela» has recently completed a preliminary series of tests for the tactical combat reconnaissance vehicle (abbreviated in Russian to «SBRM») intended to equip reconnaissance units.

The «SBRM» provides:

search for, detection and recognition of ground targets (tank,armored personnel carrier, car, group of people, single person), targets over water (rubber boat, motor boat, yacht) and low-flying targets (helicopter, sports plane, UAV) in any environments and conditions using modern optical, thermal imaging, radar, acoustic, seismic and radio direction finding sensors;

  • determination of own coordinates of the radar system and coordinates of detected targets and displaying determined coordinates against the background of digital terrain maps;
  • automatic control over all subsystems and sensors of the «SBRM» using on-board information/control system including continuous processing of navigation data;
  • reception and processing of reconnaissance video and photo data from a remotely piloted aerial vehicle;
  • reliable radio communication and transmission of data;
  • delivery of fire against detected targets day or night;
  • high mobility;
  • armor protection for the crew;
  • jamming of radio controlled explosive devices;
  • comfortable working conditions for a crew of 4 persons.

Components of the tactical combat reconnaissance vehicle

The versatility and large amount of data obtained by the reconnaissance sensors in the «SBRM» enable timely and reliable collection of intelligence information about the enemy using only a single vehicle. Equipping reconnaissance units with SBRM vehicles gives soldiers a significant advantage in complex reconnaissance missions and counterterrorist operations.
