MDA Awards $923M for Missile Defense Service


The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is announcing the award of an Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Cost-Plus Fixed-Fee contract to Johns Hopkins University/Applied Physics Laboratory, Laurel, Md., under contract HQ0147-12-D-0004.

The total ceiling award value is $922,900,000.


Under this follow-on IDIQ contract, the contractor will continue to provide the MDA essential engineering, research, and development capabilities for the Ballistic Missile Defense System.

The work will be performed in Laurel, Md., and Huntsville, Ala. The ordering period is from July 15, 2012 through July 14, 2017. Fiscal 2012 research, development, test and evaluation funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is not a foreign military sales acquisition.

The MDA in Huntsville, Ala., is the contracting activity.
