Azerbaijan Advises Against Travel to Iran

Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Elman Abdullayev, criticized Iran’s policies against Azeris in this country and advises against travel to Iran.
“Arresting two Azerbaijan nationals as spies in Iran is suffering us while they were only two poets participating in a cultural festival. Iran insisting on being a friend and brother of Azerbaijan but we cannot understand these movements.” Elman Abdullayev said on Friday.
“Now we advise against all the travels to Iran. Nobody can guarantee what will happen tomorrow in Iran. Iranians may arrest more Azerbaijan nationals by attributing fake reasons and justifications. We cannot accept the way Iran interacts with Azeris.” Elman Abdullayev added.
Shahryar Hajizadeh and Farid Husseinov were two detainees in Iran. They are linked to Azerbaijan’s secret service, planned to recruit Iranian dissidents and obtained confidential information and images from strategic locations and facilities according to the local sources.
In the recent two years the relations between these two countries have soured dramatically.
