Chinese president meets Saudi Deputy Minister of Defence

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday met Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense Khaled Sultan.

Xi, also chairman of the Central Military Commission, has reviewed the development of good relations between China and Saudi Arabia since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries in 1990, citing the regular visits of high level, fruitful cooperation in the areas of trade, economy and energy, and close coordination in international affairs.

Xi said China's commitment to strengthen its relations with Saudi Arabia.

As for the military, Xi said the two countries have strengthened their collaboration in recent years.

This closer military cooperation has bilateral relations and contribute to peace and stability in the world and regional issues, the Chinese president said.

He called this opportunity to further joint efforts to develop relations between the armed forces of both nations.


Khaled welcomed the strong friendship between the two countries and bilateral efforts to safeguard peace and stability in the world and regional levels.

He said that the leaders of his country attached great importance to developing relations with China and wanted to strengthen the friendship and bilateral cooperation.

Khaled arrived in Beijing Monday for a four-day visit to China.
