The minesweeper U.S. failed in the Philippines will be dismantled


Caught between a coral reef and environmental concerns, and political Philippine government, the U.S. Navy announced its decision to cut the minesweeper USS Guardian and remove piece by piece.

"Our only option is sustainable dismantle the damaged vessel and remove sections," said the spokesman of the Pacific Fleet, Captain. Darryn James.

The decision keeps the rescue equipment in deeper waters and limit further damage to the coral reef.


The bailout is destine to safely remove the individual sections of the ship without causing the release of hazardous materials.
