Sagem Denmark new success of the JIM LR multifunction infrared binoculars

Sagem (Safran group) has received notification of the Agency acquisition NATO NAPS (*) a new market of 126 JIM LR multifunction infrared binoculars (Long range) for the Ministry of Defence of Denmark .

The JIM LR binoculars integrates in a single cell optronic following functions: daytime and infrared vision, telemetry, magnetic compass, GPS, laser pointer, and data transmissions. The JIM LR for Denmark also integrate a function merging infrared and visible images, allowing all-time vision and décamouflage day.They will also have the ability to record images and videos on USB port.

The choice of the Danish Armed Forces is focused on the JIM LR after comparative tests, the operational emphasizing particularly its excellent performance in terms of detection, identification and acquisition targets, while enjoying its ergonomics and its lightness. Already equipped with binoculars and Matis JIM LR Danish forces confirmed their confidence in Sagem optronics equipment as part of their ongoing program of modernization of troops in contact.

JIM LR is used by several NATO countries for the infantry, artillery, intelligence, special forces, support of troops in contact and protection of borders and coasts. This new contract brings to 5000 the number of JIM LR in service or on order worldwide, including 2,000 for all French armies.


(*) Support Agency NAPS NATO (or Nato Support Agency) is the agency of integrated logistics services and NATO. The NAPS was born on July 1, 2012 the merger of the former Agency NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency (NAMSA), the agency Pipeline Management Centre Europe (CEPMA) and the NATO agency transportation management air (NAMA).
